How to Edit and Add Entries to Your Chronology

Quick answer: Click on any chronology entry to edit its date, description, or relevance. Use the checkbox next to an entry to access bulk actions (edit, delete, change relevance). To add a new entry, use the "Add fact" button.

Editing Existing Entries

To modify an existing entry in your chronology:

  1. Locate the entry you want to edit.

  2. Click directly on the entry to open it for inline editing. You can change the date, description, category, or other fields.

  3. Alternatively, select the checkbox next to the entry. This opens an edit panel where you can change the date, relevance rating, or delete the entry entirely.

  4. Save your changes when done.

Adding New Entries

If important information was not captured during automated processing, you can add entries manually:

  1. Click the "Add fact" button.

  2. Enter the date, description, and any other relevant details.

  3. Select a source document if applicable.

  4. Save the new entry. It will appear in your chronology at the correct chronological position.

Common Scenarios for Manual Additions

  • A claimant's date of birth that was not automatically extracted

  • Key dates from documents that were not uploaded (e.g., verbal instructions or phone calls)

  • Critical events that were missed during processing, such as a court hearing date or a statutory deadline

  • Corrections to events that were incorrectly described or categorised by the AI

Reporting Persistent AI Misclassifications

Help us improve: If you notice the same type of misclassification occurring repeatedly across multiple entries — for example, consultation notes being consistently classified as treatment records in a workers compensation matter, or correspondence dates being confused with incident dates — please report it. Email support@marytechnology.com with the matter name and 2-3 specific examples. This helps our team identify patterns and improve the AI's accuracy for similar document types.

Individual one-off errors are expected and can be corrected manually. But if you see a pattern — the same mistake happening across many entries from similar documents — reporting it helps us fix the underlying issue.

Known Limitations

Known limitations:

  • Manually added facts currently support only one source document per entry.

  • The AI processes documents automatically and may occasionally misclassify events or assign incorrect dates. Manual review is recommended for critical entries.

If This Doesn't Resolve Your Issue

  1. If the edit modal closes without saving, try using a different browser or an incognito/private window.

  2. If you cannot see the delete option, make sure you have selected the checkbox next to the entry first — the delete (bin) icon appears in the toolbar after selection.

  3. For any other editing issues, email support@marytechnology.com with a screenshot showing the problem.
