How to Get Fact Explorer on Your Matter

Quick answer: Fact Explorer is automatically available on all matters created after 20 November 2025. If your matter was created before that date, email support@marytechnology.com with your matter URL and we will enable it for you -- usually within one business day.


What Is Fact Explorer?

Fact Explorer is an AI-powered question-and-answer tool built into each matter. Instead of scrolling through hundreds of chronology entries to find a specific detail, you can ask Mary a direct question about your uploaded documents and get a sourced answer in seconds.

For example, on a commercial contract dispute matter, you could ask:

  • "When was the contract signed and by whom?"

  • "What are the termination provisions?"

  • "Were any amendments made after the original execution date?"

Mary searches across all documents in the matter and returns an answer with full source references, including page numbers. You can click through to the original document to verify.

If you are trying to find specific information in your documents, Fact Explorer may be the fastest route. Ask Mary a direct question and she will find the answer with full source references -- no scrolling required. Look for the Fact Explorer tab on your matter.


Where to Find Fact Explorer

Fact Explorer appears as a tab within your matter, alongside your chronology. When it is enabled, you will see it when you open any matter.

If you do not see a Fact Explorer tab on your matter, it has not been enabled yet. Follow the steps below to request activation.

Matters Created After 20 November 2025

If you created your matter after 20 November 2025, Fact Explorer should already be available. No action is needed.

If you created a matter after this date and still do not see the Fact Explorer tab, try refreshing the page. If it still does not appear, contact support and we will investigate.

Matters Created Before 20 November 2025

Matters created before the Fact Explorer launch date need to be activated individually. To request activation:

  1. Open the matter in Mary.

  2. Copy the full URL from your browser address bar (it will look something like app.marytechnology.com/matters/fms/...).

  3. Email support@marytechnology.com with the subject line "Enable Fact Explorer" and paste the matter URL in your email.

  4. Our team will enable Fact Explorer on that matter and confirm back to you.

Multiple matters? If you need Fact Explorer enabled on several matters, include all the matter URLs in a single email. We will work through them and enable each one. For large batches, we may prioritise your most urgent matters first and complete the rest within the week.


If This Doesn't Work

  1. If you have sent your matter URL to support and have not received confirmation within one business day, reply to your email to follow up.

  2. If Fact Explorer has been enabled but you still cannot see the tab, try clearing your browser cache and refreshing the page, or open the matter in an incognito/private window.
