How to Share Matters with Colleagues
Quick answer: Open your matter and click the "Invite people" button to add colleagues by name or email. They will get access immediately. Colleagues must be in the same organisation and have a Mary account to be invited.
Invite a Colleague to Your Matter
Open the matter you want to share.
Click the "Invite people" button.
Search for your colleague by name or email address.
Select their name from the list and confirm.
They will get access to the matter immediately once added.
Same organisation required: You can only invite colleagues who are part of the same organisation in Mary. If a colleague does not appear in the invite list, they are likely in a different organisation or do not yet have a Mary account. Contact support@marytechnology.com if you need to add them to your organisation first.
Sharing with People Who Don't Have Mary
If the person you want to share with does not have a Mary account, you have two options:
Option 1: Export to Word
Open your chronology.
Click Export and choose Current view.
Download the Word document and share it with your colleague via email or your firm's document management system.
Note: When sharing via Word, recipients will not have access to interactive features like clickable links to source documents or the ability to edit the chronology within Mary.
Option 2: Transfer Ownership
If you need to permanently transfer a matter to another user within your organisation, contact support@marytechnology.com. Our team can transfer the matter to their account.
Colleague in a Different Organisation?
If a colleague created their own separate Mary account instead of joining your firm's organisation, they will not appear in the invite list. In this case:
Contact support@marytechnology.com to request an account migration to your organisation.
Important: Migration requires deleting existing matters in the old organisation. Your colleague should export any important chronologies to Word before the migration.

Known Limitations
Known limitations:
Sharing is limited to users within the same organisation. External sharing with clients or opposing counsel is not yet supported.
Invited users get full access to the matter, including the ability to edit entries. Read-only sharing is not currently available.
If This Doesn't Resolve Your Issue
If a colleague does not appear in the invite list, confirm they are in the same organisation by checking with your firm's Mary administrator.
If the invite button does not respond, refresh the page with Ctrl+Shift+R (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+R (Mac).
For account migration or organisation changes, email support@marytechnology.com with the colleague's email address and your organisation name.
