Selecting Key Documents: This step means selecting a document that gives Mary context about your matter and is needed to activate themes and relevance (one of the most important steps)

Example Key Documents for PI:

  • Initial claim forms and intake documents

  • Letters of instruction and file notes from first meetings

  • Statements of claim

Example Key Docs for Family:

  • Start of matter: Notes taken from first meeting.

  • Pre mediation: Confidential Case Outline Document + Initial Letter of Advice

  • From starting court onwards: Initiating Application or Response + offers of settlement + affidavits → crucial to select both sides versions of these to reduce bias.
