Understanding billing cycles and credit renewal

Mary subscriptions renew on a monthly or annual cycle. Your page credits refresh at the start of each billing period, and any unused credits from the previous month are banked automatically (up to 3x your monthly allowance).


Monthly billing cycle

Your billing cycle begins on the date you first subscribed. Each month on that same date:

  1. Your monthly credit allowance is refreshed in full.

  2. Any unused credits from the previous month are banked (up to the 3x cap).

  3. Any extra-page charges from the previous month are invoiced.

  4. Your subscription fee for the next month is charged.

Example: If you subscribed on the 10th of the month, your credits refresh on the 10th of every subsequent month, and your invoice is generated on the same date.


Annual billing cycle

Annual subscribers receive 12 months of page credits for the price of 11 months (one month free) as a single pool. There is no monthly credit refresh on annual plans. Mary draws from the annual pool throughout the year, and any unused credits expire at the end of the 12-month term.

If you exhaust your annual pool before the term ends, extra pages are billed at your plan's per-page rate.


What happens if credits run out mid-cycle

If your firm uses all included and banked credits before the next renewal date, Mary does not stop working. Processing continues using extra pages at your plan's per-page rate. These charges are invoiced at the end of the billing cycle.

Admins can set a billing cap at Settings > Billing to limit extra-page spend. When the cap is reached, processing pauses until:

  • An admin raises the cap, or

  • The next billing cycle begins and credits refresh.

Known limitation: Only admin users can view billing details and adjust the billing cap. Non-admin users will need to ask an admin or contact support to check billing cycle dates or credit status.
