Document Upload Size Limits and Troubleshooting

Last updated: September 29, 2025

When uploading documents to the platform, you may encounter size limitations that prevent successful uploads. Here's what you need to know about our current limits and how to work around them.

Current Upload Limits

The platform currently has the following upload restrictions:

  • File size limit: 500 MB per file

  • Page limit: 10,000 pages per document

What to do if your document exceeds the limits

For files over 500 MB

If your document exceeds the 500 MB size limit, you have two options:

  1. Split the document: Divide the document into smaller files that each fall under the 500 MB limit

  2. Compress the PDF: Use PDF compression tools (such as Adobe Acrobat) to reduce the file size while maintaining readability

Note: Adobe can typically be used for either of these tasks.

For files under 10,000 pages but over 500 MB

Even if your document is under the 10,000 page limit, it may still exceed the file size limit.

For example, a 4,000-page document that is 838 MB would need to be split into smaller files to upload successfully.

Future improvements

The platform will be increasing limits to:

  • 10,000 pages per document

  • 1 GB file size limit

These enhanced limits will make it easier to upload large documents without the need for splitting or compression.

Tip: If you're having trouble splitting large documents, consider using PDF editing software (Adobe) or online PDF splitting tools to divide your files efficiently.
