Misleading Errors During Chronology Processing
Quick answer: Errors like "Unable to decode turbo-stream response" or "removeChild on Node" look alarming but are usually harmless display errors. Your chronology is almost always processing normally in the background. Navigate to your Matters page to check -- the matter should show as "processing" and you will receive an email when it is complete.
What These Errors Mean
During or after chronology creation, you may see one of these error messages in your browser:
"Unable to decode turbo-stream response"
"removeChild on Node" (or similar DOM-related errors)
These are browser-side display errors, not processing failures. They occur when the communication between your browser and the server is briefly interrupted -- typically due to a temporary network hiccup, browser tab going to sleep, or the page being open for an extended period.
In the vast majority of cases, your chronology is processing normally in the background despite the error message on screen.
What to Do
Do not re-submit your chronology. The original submission is almost certainly being processed.
Navigate to your Matters page. Click on the Matters link in the sidebar or top navigation to go back to your list of matters.
Check the matter status. Your matter should show a "Processing" status indicator. This confirms your chronology is being generated.
Wait for the completion email. You will receive an email notification when your chronology is ready to view. There is no need to keep the browser tab open.
Do not re-submit. If you create a second chronology for the same matter because you thought the first one failed, you will use additional credits. Check the Matters page first to confirm whether processing is already underway.
If the Matter Does Not Show as Processing
In rare cases, the error may indicate a genuine submission failure. If you navigate to your Matters page and the matter does not appear at all, or it shows no processing status:
Refresh the Matters page. Press Ctrl+Shift+R (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+R (Mac).
Wait 2-3 minutes and refresh again. There can be a brief delay before the matter appears in your list.
Try creating the chronology again if the matter still does not appear after waiting.
Known Limitations
These errors are cosmetic. The "turbo-stream" and "removeChild" errors are known display issues that do not affect your data or processing. They occur due to the way the browser renders real-time updates and are not indicative of a problem with your documents or account.

If This Doesn't Resolve Your Issue
Confirm whether the matter appears on your Matters page with a "Processing" status.
If you have waited more than 2 hours and have not received a completion email, check your spam folder.
If the matter still shows no processing activity, email support@marytechnology.com with the matter name, the error message you saw, and the approximate time you submitted.
